LKG & UKG

Academics

Orals / Oracy
The Curriculum:
  • English Rhymes (LKG – 8, UKG – 6), Telugu Rhymes (LKG – 8, UKG – 8),
  • Hindi Rhymes (LKG – 6, UKG – 7), English Story Telling (LKG – 4, UKG – 6)
Rhyme Time Activity (UKG & LKG)
  • A handbook is given for English Rhymes (LKG – 4, UKG – 5) other than those taught in Orals.
  • This book has lots of activities.
English
  • LKG: Two books
    1. Book 1: Cursive letters learning with few words.
    2. Book 2: Learning words with Sounds.
  • UKG: Three books International model English Book.
  • Cursive writing letter book.
  • Mini Story Book with pictures and text reading.
Telugu (UKG)

Lesson / Chapter wise material is given. It is based on ‘writing’ and ‘reading’.

Maths (LKG & UKG)
  • Term wise books are given.
  • Two books – One is Classwork book, and another is Homework book.
  • All the mathematical topics are represented in an easy way.
  • The books also have topics for Vocabulary, Conversation, GK and Home Activity.
  • Home activity:
    1. There is a home activity for some of the concepts. Please follow it.
    2. We request the parents to engage the students in the Home activities mentioned in the Classwork book.
Science (UKG)
  • Textbook is given.
  • Term-wise material is given which are of International module.
  • Each lesson is divided into different parts – Classroom & Home activities, Conceptual Learning, Word-study, Sentences, Science Skills Activities, Science Explore, etc.
  • Home Activity part
    1. Few Science Projects are given, to be done at home, to develop their individuality and creativity.
    2. Chart work: Pictures are provided to make the chart on their own.
    3. Parents are requested to help the kids, in making the projects.
    4. Certificates will be given to the completed projects.
  • Field Trip is also planned for few concepts. Please refer the Diary.
  • Science GK: Some of the topics are converted into GK model discussion.
Science (LKG)
  • Term-wise material is given which are of International module.
  • Each lesson is divided into different parts – Conceptual Learning, Word-study, Science Skills Activities, Investigation, etc.
  • Field Trip is also planned for few concepts.
Language Development (Communication Skills) (Lkg & Ukg)
  • To develop the child’s proficiency in English, this programme is planned.
  • A book of International standard is given with sample conversations.
  • Child is given every chance to speak in English, irrespective of their grammatical error, to boost the child’s confidence.
  • Grammatical errors are corrected in a polite manner.
Moral Values
  • We introduce Moral Values through regular repetition.
  • Worksheets were given.
GK

Current affairs relevant to their age are introduced.

Assessment – Lkg & Ukg

Exams

  • Two unit tests and three terminal tests (Quarterly, Half-yearly, Annual) are conducted.
  • Subjects are – English, Maths, Science & G.K (LKG), Science (UKG), GK (UKG), Telugu (UKG) and Colouring.
  • Oral test in (a) English Rhymes, (b) Telugu Rhymes, (c) English Story Narration, (d) Communication skills based on Language Development Programme, (e) GK (LKG) are conducted during the unit test and terminal tests.
  • NOTE: Kindly note that question papers will be read out.

Before & After Exams

  • Revision days are given for the Unit Tests and Terminal Tests.
  • Revision Worksheets are given for Unit Tests and Terminal Tests.
  • Progress card is issued.

Supplements To Academics – Lkg & Ukg

Reading Development (Ukg): This Is For All The Students.

  • Kids requiring additional help are identified as early as possible and given special care.

Homework

  • Homework is carefully scheduled.
  • We made sure that reading, writing, and working are covered.
  • Please make sure that children do the work on their own as much as possible – be as a guide.

Study Hour Programme

  • Study hours exist in the school, after school hours.
  • Kindly contact the Principal, if your child requires any special attention.
  • Make sure to pack some snacks in case your child is in study-hour programme.

Handwriting Development (Ukg)

  • Cursive writing is developed.
  • This programme is for all the students.
  • Carefully developed Books and Worksheets are used in this programme.

PLAY CLASS

Academics - Play Class

English
  • LETTERS (A – Z)
    1. Identification of Letters in ALPHABET.
    2. Oral drilling of words related to the letters.
    3. Identification of Pictures related to the letter.
  • PHONIC SOUNDS (A – Z)
    1. Phonic sounds are introduced. Worksheets are given to reinforce the Sounds.
  • Play Time: Revision of Letters are planned through Play Time.
Maths
  • Number identification (1 – 10 numbers) with activities.
  • Pre-mathematical concepts are introduced like – shapes, big & small, tall & short, etc.
  • Play Time: Number Skills are revised through Play Time.
  • Worksheets are given to improve their understanding.
Science
  • Science is introduced as ‘Science Theme of the Month’, based on the lessons.
  • Worksheets are given to improve their understanding.
  • Vocabulary is developed through recitation.
  • Play Time: It provides a platform for the children to review the themes.
Art Center
  • Through Art Center, LINES, CURVES and PATTERNS are taught.
  • Words related to the content are also stressed on – like standing line, sleeping line etc.
Manners / Values And Habits / Life Skills
  • 4 themes are introduced and discussed upon.
  • 4 Life Skills are introduced and discussed upon.
Actions And Commands

Gross Motor Skills are developed through ‘actions and commands’.

Language Development - Conversation

Themes are given and planned for CONVERSATION.

Tiny Theatre – Lcd

LCD period is allotted. In this period, required content of the subjects is shown.

Assessment – Play Class

Exams
  • Only terminal tests will be conducted for Play class, Subjects are – English, Maths, Science and Colouring.
  • Picture based Question papers are given.
  • Oral tests in Rhymes (Eng & Tel), English Story Narration, Communication Skills based on Language Development Programme are conducted in terminal tests
Before & After Exams
  • Revision days are given for the Terminal Tests.
  • Worksheets for Revision are given.
  • File and Progress card is issued.
